Law enforcement appears in groups with fully loaded weapons, armored SUVs, armored cars and body armor. One time, about 10 cops were here at the same time and it looked like they were all sitting in armored cars with their fists balled up looking angry. Parents think its a roller rink. They send their tiny tots to ride scooters at the base of head drops which have kickers at the top. Then they get mad at skaters for near misses or accidental collisions. Parents brag about being jerks to skaters and about how much money they spent on their tots scooters. These kids will snake you even if your 6ft airborne and weigh 5x more than them. Police enforce snake-scooting, showing up with heavy body armor to make sure the little tots can ride their scooter in the middle of 7ft bowls during other peoples runs. Cops appear in the day and park their cars facing you while you skate. Law enforcement flocks the area and the park rangers and park managers speed through the grass at you in pick up trucks to tell your friend to stop smoking cigarrettes. For the purpose of what seems to be "showing them whose boss" they shut off the lights at night suddenly and without warning. People smoke weed and blow smoke on you when you try to skate. In all, the most dangerous skate park I have ever seen. I have to make a disclaimer: all of the above sentences in this post were opinions.
I live right down the road. This is my favorite park in Kennesaw. Theres a skatepark, dog park (1 for small dogs, 1 for big dogs), a mile long track, a big playground, and they just built a little water park playground for the kids. They have a small fitness area for people who want to focus on body building, my personal favorite. There are two huge fields for picnics, sunbathing, frisbee, flying kites, you name it! There are also covered areas for picnicking, or when you have a big group and want to maybe grill out. There is a section where the community plants trees, dedicated to the families that did. Theres two public bathroom buildings, one by the kids playground, and one. G the skatepark. Some vending machines also. The track is huge, and it has mile markers. There are water fountains placed sporadically around the track, and theres a spigot for your dog (I recommend bringing a small bowl if your dog doesnt drink straight from the fountain). There are drinking fountain bowls inside the dog parks. I usually come once a day to walk or run a few miles and then focus on muscle at the fitness area. The elementary school is right next door too, so the field next to it might be closed for school activity (albeit rare).
The park is AWESOME! It boast 2 separate large, age appropriate playgrounds that appeal to all children. It has plenty of seats and shelter in the play area for parents to watch their children or even have a picnic lunch with their kids. The park is equipped with free WiFi so you dont have to worry about missing any phone calls while monitoring your children. It has a 1 mile walk/run track that spans the entire park and a large fenced in dog area for the socially playful dog. They even included doggie waste cans...sadly though, on many of my visits lazy pet owners have selfishly neglected to clean up behind their pets. I love the childrens garden and the separate exercise section to help maximize your workout. In addition, there are sheltered picnic areas for those who want to host a private event such as a birthday party or family reunion and tons of green space. They present outdoor movies and a wide variety of events that foster a healthy community and promote excellent family time. Soon it will include a skateboard park! Now the only thing missing is a water fountain park and all bases will be covered! Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Dept. has a real gem on their hands, hopefully it will continue to remain as such.
We visit this park early in the morning find the cooler air and smaller crowds pleasant. However there are very few kids in the park in the early morning. If you decide to come during peak hours or holidays be prepared for no parking. Being such a nice park for the kids vans quickly fill up the spaces. The park has public bathrooms, public pavilions for gatherings, huge open fields for running, a 1 mile loop for biking and walking, a 1/2 mile inside loop for walking only, a grove of trees for kids and a cool skate park. The skate park is really a cool idea. Only a few times does it being in questionable elements but the frequent police help on this regard. Since there are so many families at the skate park this also acts as a big deterrent for a bad crowd. Overall this is a really great park. I hear they have plans to expand and add other things likes a public swimming pool. Just remember the best experience is off peak hours. Early in the morning and before school lets out are really good times.
This place is a sweet open field that offers various outdoor activities. This place contains two circular tracks that has hills. The outdoor track is 1 mile long while the inner track runs half a mile. These tracks also has connecting walkways. These areas is compatible with dogs and has a dog area. You can also ride a bike on these tracks. Another feature the park includes are playgrounds, restrooms and vending machines. To continue, there are AC wall connectors on the back of the restrooms. The newest area is a skatepark, which includes landmarks of stairs, guardrails, holes, and more! Desipite wifi is offered, its speed is slower than a typical WiFi plan. To conclude, this park is the best if you like to have an outdoor activity in a field, run or cycle in mild hills without stopping (except the outer track which crosses the road that is the entrance), carry your dog, or want to skate. To go in stepper hills, I would recommend you to go to Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park.
If you are into Pokémon Go, this is the place to be. The entire park is blanketed in free Wi-Fi. It has walking/running trails, a large playground in many places to sit to watch your children. It is usually fairly busy, wish I could find as the only downside. There are numerous bathrooms which are kept fairly clean and a maintenance staff which stays on top of it. It has wide open fields and a pavilion with grills for public barbecues. It also includes a dog park, that is separated between large and small dogs, which I found to be very unique but also helpful since I own a small dog who likes to show dominance. There is also a skate park. Which is very well designed and maintained , would recommend for any of the above reasons. One of my favorite places to visit to get some exercise.
Its my hang of choice for exercise with friends! We have a running club between some circles of friends hat goes there. I saw the stroller moms today-- they seem pretty awesome. Different kinds of people of different age and body type and ethnicity go. Its encouraging to run there. Theres a little exercise outdoor area for different body weight exercise that are fun to do as well. The loop is a good view and pretty flat with a little bit of incline. Its fun to run by the dog park, skate park, and children playground too-- gives diversity and brings different kinds of people to one place. Ive seen some cool groups come like LARPers there. Also good open space for different activities and sports. Sometimes theres events like 5Ks as well, but not very often.
